it's nearly the weekend!

In 9 hours I can officially say, toodle pip to my work clothes and desk and 'HELLO WEEKEND'.

Dont get me wrong, I am enjoying being back in work, but as normal I'm shattered after my first week, and I've not done myself any favours by staying up late. I look forward to a nice long lie in tomorrow, teamed with a movie in bed, followed by a trip to the city beach in the afternoon, weather permitting. With the weather as it is at the moment I can't imagine I'll be there in my vintage style swimmer! Oh how I long to get those polka dots back out, plus it'll fit even better now that I'm not with the ex and have dropped back down to my normal weight! Maybe i'll just have to parade it at the pool instead, or maybe book myself a last minute holibob!

Back to the here and now, I need to get some yoghurt in my belly and some slap on my face. Work beckons!

Ahhhh, I love my family

So, my parents came to visit today, and god do I love them! They were accompanied by my uncle and aunty, who have come to visit from Shetland for the week. It was just really nice to have a sit down in the house, with a cuppa tea and some french fancies. The kittens did the rounds and gave everyone a kiss (as they do), and my mum and uncle (siblings) ended up having the most cuddles with the little babies- they are the most unlikely people to take a shine to animals!

We went out for dinner to a nice curry house in the town- I deviated from the usual chicken korma. I treated my tastebuds to a new curry called Kashmiri Chicken. It's chicken cooked with banana's and lychees and Kashmir spices- and it was DELICIOUS!

My mum brought me a gift, and pretty little blouse/tank top that will go perfectly with my 1940's attire. I wore my new land girl-esque chinos (avec braces) with a cute little blue striped top and a navy blue cardi, topped with my blue espadrilles- maybe not so vintage a shoe but the colours matched and they're so comfy!

Tonight I WILL get an early night- when I say early I class that as before midnight- every other night this week has been no earlier than 1am, not healthy for a working girl such as my beautiful self. Time to get some shut eye, and maybe by the morning I will have a new found zest for life? Or maybe I'll just wake up happy, knowing that in 9 hours time it'll be the weekend and I can just chill ;-)

Good Morning

So, after another short night sleep I wake up feeling a little spaced out- I must stop staying up so late!

My parents are coming to visit today, so must make sure my house is up to scratch before they arrive. I just moved house, and it'll be the first time my mum has seen my new humble abode. I just have so many nick knacks, they clutter everything, but I just cant bear to part with them.

Back into my onesie whilst getting ready for work- my dressing gown is out on the washing line and it rained yesterday, so it's far from dry. Not decided on my attire for today, but already decided on tonights outfit. The hair will have to stay as it is, because it will refuse to style any different after work. I wish I could pull off a 40's hairdo at work to spare the effort later, but somehow I dont think they'd appreciate it.

I need to start reading again soon. Now I have so much spare time I need to do something with it. I feel a bit lost right now as I dont have anyone to look after. There's the kittens, but what I mean is that now I'm single I havent got anyone to check up on, or feed, or have a snuggle on the sofa with. I feel a bit of a spare part. Operation Find-a-Man is now in place. Operation Get-a-little-dog will have to be postponed due to lack of funds and lack of free little dogs!

Welcome to me!

So, first blog on the page, what do I write about?

Well, I will tell you all about my day.

I woke up and routinely turned off my alarm, and went back for my '5 minute snooze'- which evidently turned into a 30 minute nap, causing me to be late into the shower- good job I had one last night before bed! I had a mandarin yoghurt for my breakfast, and I decided on wearing my grey dress with burgundy tights and a blue cardigan. I burnt my hand on the iron, that was no fun.

Work was pleasantly busy, learning to prep notes and find files in the vast library of patients. The girls and I discussed the riots, then watched a little bit of cash in the attic on the TV in the waiting room. Lunch was horrendously small, consisting of two cheese straws, an imitation mars bar and some ginger beer. When I returned to work there were more files to be completed, which took me right up to 5pm.

I was meant to be joining a parkour group this evening but the freak rainstorm put me off. So I decided that I'd prefer my first 'freerunning' night to be a dry one, so I got into my onesie, tucked up in bed with the kittens, and set up this blog.

I hope my blogs to be of more interest in the future, never really too sure how to make a start on these things.

I could tell you all about my horrendous recent break up with the ex, but I just cant be bothered, it's just not worth the effort. I'll tell you about my cool cat though at a later date, he's DEFINITELY worth the effort
